Bypassing Safety Controls A SAFETY CHECK BEFORE YOUR ACT IS SMART PREPARATION THAT PAYS DID YOU KNOW Whether you’re on a well site or in the shop, before performing any task always pause and ask yourself:  Do I know what I’m going to do and all the risks involved?  Do I have control over the risks?  Am I sure I’m not over -confident to perform this task? If you answer “No” to any of these questions, then step back, make a detailed analysis, and if necessary ask for support. Proceed with your task only when you’re certain of safety. At Halliburton, Priority No. 1 is safety.
